Our company was founded in 2021 by Cecilie Harry Heyman after a trip to Ghana with her husband Alex.

 

Cecilie fell in love with the beautiful wicker baskets, which is a unique craft in Ghana, and the idea to sell the baskets in Denmark started.

"I think the simplicity and elegance of the baskets fits well with the Scandinavian decor, and it's a big plus that the products are handmade and can't be bought in the traditional stores," says Cecilie.

The baskets are woven in the town of Bolgatanga in northern Ghana, where it's mainly women who earn money from their craft. By buying a wicker basket from Made in Ghana, you support the female artisans.
